Reader question: My husband and I live
Reader question: My husband and I live in Georgia. He has a classic muscle car that he restores as a hobby; it was his first car and it is his baby! He doesn’t drive it very often, other than an occasional spin around the block or to a hot rod show. The problem is that we have not been able to find cheap auto insurance in georgia for this car. We were told that because the replacement parts were so expensive, that the premiums were high. Are we stuck with this expense, or is there a way to reduce it? He refuses to get rid of the car.
Thanks.
Aghast in Georgia
Well, no wonder you are aghast! It is highly probable that you can lower this unnecessary expense by doing some comparison shopping. Yes, the georgia auto insurance laws require you to have insurance on your husband’s “baby,” but it should not cost an arm and a leg. It sounds like he doesn’t drive the car that much, anyway. Of course, law or not, you don’t want to pull it out of the garage without a suitable coverage.
